A trainee’s list, station by station: what is used in the first week, what can wait, and what runs out first.
A first kit is assembled around what is actually used during training, not around what appears on a complete professional equipment list.
Used in the first week
A practice head, one pigment, something to map with, and the hygiene consumables. The rest can wait for the first real appointment.
What runs out first
The single-use consumables: cups, sleeves, record cards. They go faster than pigments, and it is the line a trainee most often underestimates when working out a budget.
What can wait
A second machine, a full shade range, a price display. Those are purchases for an established studio, not for training.
Composing your own
Our starter kits let you pick the references rather than imposing a composition: two trainees taught different techniques do not have the same first kit.
