Reading a lot number, and why to write it down

Every bottle carries a lot and a date. Where to find them, what they identify, and why copying them into the client record changes the conversation if a question comes up.
A lot number identifies a production run: one mix, one date, one series of bottles. It says nothing about how good a product is and replaces no check — it only tells you which one was used.
Where to find it
On our pigment bottles the lot is printed on the side label, under the volume, with the manufacturing date and the period after opening. On needles it is on the individual sachet, not on the box.
Why write it down
A practitioner who copies the lot into the client record can answer precisely if that client comes back with a question months later. Without it, the answer is a reconstruction from memory.
What we keep on our side
We keep the lot of the references we ship, against the order number. Write to us with your order number and we can tell you which lot you received.
